The GIANT spider
We went camping over Memorial Day Weekend in a cabin not too far from where we live. We went with my sister-in-law, brother-in-law and our three neices. The cabins were ok, but dirty. We brought our own linens for the beds and were making them in preparation for sleep Friday night when our oldest niece who was also sharing our cabin screamed because there was a giant spider on the top bunk. I didn't believe that the spider could be that big. She refused to go back on the top bunk to make the bed up until we found the spider and killed it. I crawled up there and started looking around and it was hanging off the side of the bed. It definitely was a big brown spider, the likes of which I have never seen before in my life. I told Mike to get me something so I could kill it. Of course, he took his own sweet time and all of a sudden, the thing jumped on the bed and started hopping/jumping towards me despite my screams of protest. The louder I screamed, the closer it got....... I have never in my life jumped off a top bunk so fast! I was shaking so bad and saying I wasn't going back to get it and one of the men would have to take care of it. Of course, everyone was laughing because I was so freaked-out. So, the hubster and Mike went up to get it and it jumped at them as well. It jumped off the bed and onto the wall where Mike finally squished it. Thank GOD! Although the men kept telling me that it wasn't a spider, it was a grasshopper or something, I am not convinced. I saw it with my own two eyes and so did our neice! I will never laugh at or make fun of someone again when they say they saw a giant spider!

Blondie, I have seen spiders like that they seem to like to come after people and not be afraid, and I have seen them jump too. And being scared shitless of spiders like I am you know very well what you saw. What an experience I would never have been able to step foot back in that cabin, even if it was dead, where there is one there is sure to be others...
So sorry to take so long to comment I have been so busy, I just finially posted something on mine after 10 days. Miss you lots...
I can not believe that you crawled willingly into the spider war zone...NEVER would I willingly go after a spider...that is sooooo Kruze's domain. You are a brave girl!! I would have been laying flat on my back on the floor if that thing had jumped at me....EEEEEWWWWWWW I hate spiders!! I'll bet you won't ever try to fight a spider again....just call the man Blondie they were genetically engineered to deal with creepy crawly eight legged monsters....hehehe
