SUNBURNED SON
Mike had a field trip to the local pool the other day with his classmates. I knew it was going to be a hot, sunny day and told him that night before we went to bed to be sure that he packed the sunscreen because he burns easily. I even called him the next morning from my cell on the way to work to remind him about he sunscreen. I got home that night and he looked like a lobster. I said, "what happened to the sunscreen you were supposed to put on?" He said, "mom, there is none and I couldn't find it" I was a little upset because he had small blisters from it and I worry about Melanoma because of my medical background. So I had him help me search for the sunscreen. We couldn't find any because the kids had taken it to the pool on our camping trip and left it at the pool (both bottles). It was the spray on stuff so it is much easier to put on. I told him he should've borrowed some from someone else, but he is too cool for that. Teenagers! Oh well, I doctored him up with the aloe vera gel and he went to bed. Last night I got him some solarcaine because he said it is so painful. I hope that helped him. I used to do silly things like that, only worse as a teenager, I used to lay out with baby oil on and purposely fry myself all for the sake of a tan. However, I left that out when I was talking to Mike. I hope that he will remember how much it hurts the next time he wants to spend the day in the sun and put the sunscreen on. Deanna is too funny, she thinks that the sunscreen is her tanning lotion and she puts it on to lay out. I am certainly not going to tell her anything different.

Poor Mike hope he's feeling better, I know how he feels. I got fryed at the sisters house burnt my shoulders so bad after a few days the skin turned a grayish brown and is now peeling and itchy.
I remember those days of laying out with the baby oil for hours and hours, and the day my mom let us skip school to tan all day, we never thought about what would happen to our skin years later. I even tried olive oil and crisco cause a friend said it worked good and left your skin soft, they worked alittle too good though, talk about frying literally...
